Queen Lili‘uokalani Studios
About the Project
Queen Liliʻuokalani Studios will be Hawaiʻi's first purpose-built film and television production campus — and the first Native Hawaiian–owned and led studio on Hawaiian homelands. Located at Kalaeloa on a 65-year DHHL ground lease, the project pairs professional-grade production infrastructure with the Waʻa Experience, a one-of-a-kind immersive cultural attraction that puts Native Hawaiian storytelling at the center of the global stage.
This is not just a studio. It is a declaration that our voices, our images, and our narratives belong in the global film industry — told by us, on our land.
The Vision
Queen Liliʻuokalani was Hawaiʻi's last reigning monarch and one of its greatest cultural creators — composing over 150 songs, including the world-renowned Aloha ʻOe. Her music carried the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people, blending poetry, resistance, and beauty in a way that still echoes today. Inspired by her artistry and enduring legacy, Queen Liliʻuokalani Studios will be a place where Native Hawaiians create, train, and tell our own stories for generations to come.
